E24 Australia GT550 Models

All models sold appear to have conformed to general export specifications with just a couple of exceptions:

• The mirrors are specific to Australia - 56500-31601 for the right and 56600-31601 for the left for the M, A and B models. Per the copy of the Australian Vehicle Standards, Information Bulletin 6, and specifically ADR#14, this is because they must both have the same type of glass (whether flat or magnifying). A copy of the Australian Motorcycle design rules can be downloaded at this link. The mirrors may also have had longer stems - that is still to be confirmed.
• a front brake light switch was added for the 'A' and 'B' models.
• The headlamp lens would have been specific for driving in the left lane

This is an example of the Australian specific VIN plate (it is from a GT750, but would be typical - I've obscured the frame numbers).
