Located in Sumida Ward, Tokyo, they initially produced small displacement 90cc and 150cc 4 stroke machines, and in 1955 introduced a 250cc model called the F. The 1952 ad would imply they at least started in business using Mishima (Misima) engines made by Mishima Kodo Kogyo Co., Ltd. which still exists today as Maruzen Industry Co., Ltd. The 'Encylopedia of Motorcycles' shows them as using their own engine design, which is supported by the photos of the engine showing Sumita ( スミタ ) on the casting.
