Tiger Shokai Company, Osaka City, 1951-55(?)

タイガー商会

The "Century of Japanese Motorcycles" lists Tiger Shokai as only being in business for 1955, but Yaplog has an ad which they say is from 1951. Other data says they made a bike called the Moon Tiger (ムーンタイガー号), but the 1951 ad displayed on Yaplog appears to me to only talk about a White Tiger ( ホワイトタイガー号) model. I did find a blog entry by someone called Syakutorimusi in Japan, who showed photos of his Moon Tiger project bike and the name is clear on the tank. It is also a plunger rear end suspension, rather than the rigid frame in the ad, so it could be a later or just a different model. Syakutorimusi states that his Moon Tiger has a 4 cycle ohv 2 valve 175 cc engine made by Autobit (Fujita Tekko) in Nagoya.

There are three different 'Tiger' manufacturers listed on the Japanese language Wikipedia site (Iwasami Seisakusho's "Baby Tiger",Tiger Shokai and World Tiger Manufacturing Company's "World Tiger"), so I'm sure more information will surface.
