Kawasaki Akira Kogyo Co., Ltd., Tokyo, 1953-61

川崎明発工業㈱

Post WWII, Kawasaki made 4 stroke engines for other companies (RSY for example) and also offered a line of small displacement 2 stroke machines under its Meihatu (or Meihatsu メイハツ号) brand. Meihatu was wound down when Kawasaki linked up with Meguro in 1960 which led to them eventually buying Meguro and merging the two product lines together starting in 1962. They then continued selling small displacement 2 stroke products under the Kawasaki brand.
